Midnight doing much better

Midnight is doing so much better.  We take her outside for a walk every day to help build up her strength.  She is able to get on the bed for rest time with a few extra boxes to help her jump.  It was determined it was vaccine related and the drug company is helping us.

The bad news the last pathology report from UGA indicated the cancer had spread to her hip area.  There is nothing we can do but wait and see if it grows back.  She is feeling good now so we are enjoying every minute we have with her.

  1. Happy to hear she gets around well. I’m sorry to hear it’s vaccine related. Here are some ideas if you want to do any more treatments or surgeries and have the pharma company pay for them:

Have a talk to your vet or oncologist about Interleukin for the cancer on her hip: http://www.2ndchance.info/fibrosarcomaMerialALVAC-IL2.htm I’m not sure of the success rate but the Interleukin must be used before any surgery if you ever go that route. There are some cats that have also had a hemipelvectomy amputation to remove part of the pelvis but you would only want to do that if you know you’ll get all of the cancer.

Please don’t give up hope. I know of a cat who had an aggressive tumour on her back, had it removed and 19 radiation treatments and is still alive 3 years later.

Whatever you choose to do, I’m sure you’ll have many more days loving her.

    Hugs for both of you,

    1. Thanks for this information. I will talk with my Vet about this option but I don’t think it will work for Midnight because we already had her leg removed. We didn’t know about the cancer in the hip until after the surgery and several pathology reports. We are hoping the cancer cells will not grow.

  2. Glad to hear Midnight is doing so much better👏🏻Im sure she is loving going back outside! 😻

Kerren always has fantastic info on VAS!
Never give up hope! There are always alternatives to try if you want to pursue.
Add some more pictures when you can please. We would love to see her enjoying life again!

  3. The important thing, as you already noted, Midnight is feeling good and obviously enjoying herself!

And you are exzctly right, those stupid cells may not even grow and heck, maybe they’ll even go away!! It’s happened before!!

Keep on loving and spoiling and know that all is well in Midnight’s world! And that’s all that matters! We’re cheering for you Midnight!

    Hugs!
